Abstract
878,176. Paper sacks. BOWATER RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT Ltd. May 30, 1960 [June 11, 1959], No. 20092/59. Class 94(2). The blockbottom end of a multi-ply paper sack includes a tear strip 5 secured to a face flap 4, constituting part of the blockbottom closure, outside the area of overlap of the face flap 4 with the other face flap 3. The strip is adhesively secured to that face flap which overlies the other and extends the full length of the flap, contriving at one end so that a tail 6 may be folded over and secured to the top surface of the flap 4. A suitable material for the strip is combed cotton coated with pressure-sensitive adhesive. Preferably the tear strip is secured to the non- valve end of the sack. Specification 754,578 is referred to.
