Abstract

877,562. Press-button retractive switches. UNITED-CARR FASTENER CORPORATION. Oct. 28, 1959 [Oct. 28, 1958], No. 36625/59. Class 38 (5). An insulating block 32 is guided for axial movement in an insulating housing 14 and loosely carries plunger contacts 44 urged outwardly by springs 46. The contacts co-operate with pairs of fixed contacts 20 when the block 32 is depressed against a return spring 58. The contacts 44 have enlarged heads 48 which are forced through bores 42 in the block 32 so as to mount them on the block. The looseness of the contacts compensates for canting of the plunger 34 and thus preserves good contact.
