Abstract

875,418. Capoptric systems. PERKINELMER CORPORATION. May 17, 1960 [May 29, 1959], No. 17395/60. Class 97(1) The system comprises a concave paraboloidal reflector 10 focusing radiation energy (e.g ultra-violet, visible or infra-red radiation) on to a plane mirror 12 which directs the radiation to a collimating concave paraboloidal reflector 14. The collimated energy is directed by a convex spherical mirror 16, to a concave spherical mirror 18, which brings the radiation to a final focus. Mirrors 16 and 18 are positioned concentrically and have their radii substantially in the ratio #5-1/#5+1. The curvature introduced by mirrors 10-14 may be balanced by the opposite curvature due to mirrors 16, 18. Optical data are given for one example of the embodiment shown.
