Abstract
875,253. Waveguide resonators. VARIAN ASSOCIATES. June 7, 1960 [June 5, 1959], No. 19983/60. Class 40(8) [Also in Group XL(a) ] A test cavity resonator for determining the parameters of a disc-loaded linear accelerator waveguide (see Group XL(a) ) consists of two discs 45, 46 sandwiched between three spacer rings 47, 48 and 49, the entire assembly being clamped between flat-end plates 49. A coupling loop is shown at 51. Resonance wavelengths are measured for successively larger diameters 2b of the spacer discs and successively smaller disc spacings d. The attenuation and field strength on the axis is computed for each of the series of cavities.
