1489640 Silencers MASCHINENFABRIK KORFMANN GmbH 6 Nov 1975 [11 Sept 1975] 46045/75 Addition to 1480416 Heading FIB The silencer claimed in the main specification, comprising an annulus of self-supporting sound absorbing elements 4 mounted between end-pieces 5 and surrounded by an outer jacket 2 is modified by the provision of a central core 4a of sound absorbing elements of the type making up the annulus. The ends of the core 4a may be held in cups 10 each supported by three legs 11. When the core 4a is an annulus of elements these elements may be held in annular end pieces (not shown). More than one concentric core can be provided. The cores may be located by legs 11 with slots engaging the end-pieces 10 of another core or the end-pieces 5 of the elements 4 as shown in Fig.9.
