Abstract

874,084. Moulding thermoplastic materials. ETABLISSEMENTS ALCA, FRANCE. Oct. 29, 1957 [Nov. 8, 1956], No. 33650/57. Class 87(2). A polythene rod 4 is fed by rollers 5, 6 into a heating chamber 1 from which it is extruded through an orifice 2. A cutter 11 driven by a cam 16 in timed relation with the feed rollers removes a drop 9 from the orifice and deposits of in a die 10. A spring 25 moves the cutter away from the orifice during its return stroke. The polythene is then pressed by a member 28 against a cooled upper die 26. After moulding, the article is ejected by a plunger 29, and the article is carried away by a tray or a plate with a central hole to facilitate stacking of the articles.
