Abstract

873,577. Packaging. NATIONAL DISTILLERS & CHEMICAL CORPORATION. Jan. 15, 1960 [Feb. 13, 1959], No. 1563/60. Class 94(1). A stack of articles such as polythene bags for garments is packed for ready withdrawal one at a time by being placed on a stiff cardboard or like member 30 with the transverse midline of the stack coinciding with one edge 52 and clamped in place by a strip 38, the ends of which are secured to the member 30. A portion 24 of the stack is then folded over the edge 52 to lie adjacent the opposite portion 25 and both portions are folded on to the strip 38. Handles 32, 34 may extend from the member 30 and are folded on to the portion 25 so that the package so formed may be placed in a carton, Fig. 1 (not shown). In use, the portions 24, 25 are unfolded from the strip 38 and the package may be suspended by hooks engaging the member 30 or by securing the handles to a vertical surface 66 by nails 69. Alternatively, the package may be laid on a plank &c.
