Abstract

873,424. Photographic vapour developing apparatus. OZALID CO. Ltd. Aug. 12, 1957 [May 10, 1956], No. 14531/56. Class 98(2) [Also in Group XXV] In a diazotype developing machine having a chamber with a perforated surface constituting a wall thereof, means for facilitating the movement of exposed prints over the wall comprises one or more stationary sheets 18 of vapour-permeable flexible material adapted to overlie at least a portion of the perforated wall and to provide a surface of low frictional resistance for the prints and arranged for ready release and withdrawal even while the machine is in operation. As shown, the prints are traversed over the surface by an endless belt 12, and a feed board 17 carries a metal support plate 19 to which is releasably anchored one end of the sheet or sheets 18 constituting a slip screen. The screen is anchored by the one end being folded over a rod 27 and inserted in a channel 24 formed by folding an edge portion 23 of the plate 19, the arrangement being such that withdrawal of the rod 27 allows removal of the slip screen even while the machine is in operation.
