Abstract

873,026. Induction alternators. CAIRE, P. May 9, 1960, No. 36517/56. Class 35. A constant-speed induction generator for supplying asynchronous motors (not shown) under conditions of constant power at various speeds has excitation windings 7, 8, 9 which may be in the same stator slots as the main generating windings 1, 2, 3 and which are energized from an alternator 10 with a control current of frequency and voltage which are inversely variable with respect to each other. The alternator 10 is driven by a Ward-Leonard set 12 the motor 15 of which is fed from a generator 13 whose field winding 14 is adjustably excited from a generator 17 through a rheostat R. The field 16 of alternator 10 is likewise energized from the generator 17 through a rheostat R<SP>1</SP>. These rheostats are linked by a common control 18 to provide the required constant power output of the inductor generator. In a modification the main and control windings of the inductor generator are connected in series.
