Abstract
872,278. Hydraulic transmission of power. KAMPER-MOTOREN G.m.b.H. May 1, 1959 [May 24, 1958], No. 15011/59. Class 69(2). An hydrostatic gear consisting of a pump 18 and motor 19 is controlled by a'device which, when operated for increased output speed of the motor, shifts the pump output to a maximum rate of delivery while making it impossible for the motor to be shifted towards minimum consumption, and when operated for reduced output speed of the motor, adjusts the motor from low to maximum consumption before the pump can be shifted from a maximum to a minimum rate of delivery. The control device comprises a four-way slide valve 1 which is connected by lines 2, 3 to valves 4, 5, the positions of which are controlled by piston-andcylinder devices 6, 7 associated with the pump and motor, respectively. Each device 6, 7 is also connected to the valve controlled by the other device and is moved against a spring 16, 17 upon its associated pump being moved to a position of maximum output or motor being moved to a position of maximum consumption. When the pump is in an arbitrary position, the supply of fluid from the slide valve 1 passes through line 3, valve 5 and line 10 to the lower end of the device 6 to move the piston upwardly and increase the output of the pump, the motor being retained in a position of maximum consumption by non-return valves 12 connected to the lower end of the device 7 by the valve 4 and a line 8. The valve 4 is actuated by the device 6 when the pump reaches maximum output to permit the motor to be moved from its position of maximum consumption, the pump being prevented from moving from its position of maximum delivery by non-return valve 13 connected to the lower end of the device 6 by the valve 5 and a line 10. Reduced output speed of the motor is obtained by operating the slide valve 1 to connect the supply to line 2, valve 4 and the line 8 to the lower end of the device 7 and move the position of the motor to maximum consumption in which position the valve 5 is actuated to connect the lower end of the device 6 to an exhaust line and permit the pump to be moved towards the position of minimum delivery.
