Abstract
871,534. Kinematograph cameras. HANDLER, A. and VOCKENHUBER, K. Sept. 26, 1957 [Sept. 28, 1956], No. 30200/57. Class 97(1) A manual release member and an automatic brake, which preferably acts before the spring driving motor is fully run down, act independently on a coupling member which locks the shutter in its closed position, the coupling member rotating about different points according to whether the release member or the brake actuates it. In the form shown the manual release member 8, which may be provided with an antinous release 34,actuates through a link 7 one end of a lever 1 to remove a stop 9 from the path of a nose 3 on the shutter shaft 4. As exposure continues the toothed spring drum 18 which drives the mechanism rotates to bring a pin 20 into engagement with a projection 21 from a slide 12 to which the other end of the lever 1 is pivoted. Movement of the slide returns the stop 9 into the path of the nose. Single exposures may be effected by an antinous release 36 acting on the member 12, the members 7, 8 being in their leftwards, i.e. released position. The stop is then moved to the left from the nose 3 which, however, is then stopped after one rotation, by a further stop 38. Return movement of the member 12 frees the nose from the stop 38 and returns it to the stop 9. The mechanism 23 ensures that the link 7 passes quickly between the stopped and running positions. A lug 28 projecting from the lever 7 is normally latched in one of two notches 30, 32 in a fixed member 31. Initial movement of the release member 8 merely stresses, through a rod 25, a spring 26 carried by the link 7 on lugs 27, 28 until the rod 25, sliding in the slot 24 in the member 31, engages a cam surface 29 on the link 7 to depress it and remove the lug 28 from the notch 30 or 32, whereupon the spring 26 moves it to engage the other notch. The link may be engaged in either position by a latch 15 engageable in notches 16, 17. The stop member 21 may be adjustably mounted on the slide 12. The winding of the spring may be limited by a stop 39 engaging pins 20 or 20<SP>1</SP>.
