Abstract

870,619. Transistor relay circuits. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATION. Aug. 13, 1958 [Aug. 16, 1957], No. 26009/58. Class 40(6). A relay circuit comprises a transistor having one winding 18 of a relay in its collector-emitter circuit and another winding 22 connected regeneratively in the base-emitter circuit, whereby the application of a pulse through a capacitor 26 to the base circuit will cause the relay to operate. In the circuit shown the transistor is biased to be normally non-conductive by a circuit 12, 14, 16. The relay may be maintained operated by a third winding connected in series with latching contacts or by a mechanical latch releasable by passing current through a winding of the relay.
