Abstract
1,047,930. Transistor amplifier and switching circuits. TELEFUNKEN PATENTVERWERTUNGS G.m.b.H. May 4, 1965 [May 30, 1964], No. 18782/65. Heading H3T. A transistor differential circuit of the long tail pair type has positive feedback from a connection to a succeeding common emitter stage to the common emitter circuit. According to the amount of feedback the circuit will operate as a linear amplifier or as a switching circuit. In the latter case the feedback causes rapid switching to saturation when the differential input exceeds a small value. In Fig. 2 (not shown) the feedback is provided from one collector via the emitter of a common emitter output amplifier to a tap on the common emitter resistor while in Fig. 3 (not shown) the feedback is from the emitter of a common emitter output amplifier of the other conductivity type transistor, to the base of a transistor forming the common emitter resistor.
