Abstract

1,032,224. Transistor amplifier circuits. PHILCO CORPORATION. May 22, 1964 [May 23, 1963], No. 21332/64. Heading H3T. A transistor amplifier comprises three D.C. coupled common emitter stages in cascade, the last being of opposite conductivity type to the other two and negative feedback being applied from the output collector to the input base. In Fig. 1 (not shown) the feedback is through series resistors 42, 44, the junction point of which is partly by-passed to earth through a capacitor 48. Additional feedback is provided by a resistor from the output collector to the second base and stability is increased as a result of the change of resistance with temperature of the output transformer winding. An alternative circuit (Fig. 2, not shown) differs mainly in the absence of the feedback path 30 and by the provision of a feedback resistor 50 shunting resistors 42, 44 to provide some A.C. feedback.
