870,161. Pneumatic tyres. PHOENIX GUMMIWERKE A.G. July 22, 1958 [July 23, 1957], No. 23551/58. Class 144 (2). A pneumatic tyre has a carcase of pairs of cross-laid parallel cord bead-to-bead plies 1, 2 which each have a cord angle of 70 to 80 degrees with respect to the mid-circumferential line a, and a breaker of pair of cross-laid plies 3, 4, the cords of each of which extend at rightangles to the cords of one or other of a pair of carcase plies, the cord angle of the breaker plies therefore being in the range 10 to 20 degrees, with the cords of the radially outer breaker ply being at right-angles to those of the radially outer carcase ply.
