Abstract

1,168,299. Pneumatic tyres. CONTINENTAL GUMMI-WERKE A.G. 23 May, 1967 [1 June, 1966], No. 23910/67. Addition to 1,164,840. Heading B7C. A pneumatic tyre as disclosed in Specification 1,164,840 is modified by the provision of additional cord layers 11 at the belt edges, the cords of the layers 11 preferably lying in radial planes. The layers 11 may be separate as shown in Fig. 2 or the turnover of the carcass plies 2 may be extended to the belt 4 so that the free edges thereof form the layers 11 (Figs. 3-5, not shown). The layers 11 may lie beneath, between or radially outwardly of the belt layers.
