Abstract

869,747. Utilizing solar heat. SUN HEATERS Ltd. Sept. 9, 1958, No. 28940/58. Class 64(2) A fluid, such as water, for absorbing solar heat is passed from an inlet 4 into a header 2 and thence by a grid of narrower pipes 1 to a header 2 with an outlet 5. The pipes 1 are soldered or welded to a dark-coloured plate 6 having channels 7, Fig. 3, in which the pipes are secured and the headers 2 extend along edges of the plate. The pipes and plate are of copper, steel or aluminium. The apparatus is enclosed in an insulating box with a glass top.
