Abstract

869,727. Eyepiece mounts. MINE SAFETY APPLIANCES CO. Sept. 30, 1959, No. 33157/59. Class 97(1) A compressible frame (see Fig. 2) for an eyepiece 1 having an edge secured in a groove in an inner surface of said frame, has an outer surface 3, opposite side surfaces joining the inner and outer surfaces, and a flexible integral wire band bent as shown in Fig. 3, the adjacent U-shaped members contacting opposite sides of the frame to hold the eyepiece in the groove. A metal strip 10 extending round the side surface may be provided and may have grooves therein to receive parts 71 of the band. Alternatively, or in addition, the side surface of the frame away from the strip may have similar grooves with an additional continuous groove to receive parts 7 of the band.
