Abstract

942,726. Clamps. E. LENZE, [trading as TRILUX-LENZE KOMM.-GES]. June 29, 1962 [Dec. 14, 1961], No. 24971/62. Heading E2B. [Also in Division F4] A lamp housing, especially for fluorescent lamps, comprises an upper housing part and a trough-shaped lower part which has an inwardly turned edge and which is secured to the upper housing by spring pressed rollers at each of a number of fixing points. In one form, the upper housing 1 has a horizontal edge 3 terminating in an outwardly inclined portion 4, the edge 5 of which is turned inwards. A sealing strip 6 is mounted on the part 4. The part 3 carries a support 9 on which is mounted a pair of stirrup-shaped bearings 11 in which is a split pin 19 forming an axle for two rollers 13. A spring 16 extends from the support 19 to bear on the axle 19. The trough 2 has an inwardly turned edge which, on insertion into the housing 1 presses the rollers 13 back against the spring pressure until they engage under the edge 7. In a modification, the top of the edge 7 is turned over to form a horizontal surface, the sealing strip being arranged on the underside of the part 3. The rollers may be toothed and may be carried by a T-shaped element which is pressed by a spring arranged round the shank of the T.
