Abstract

869,531. Ground anchors. LANGER, R. Aug. 5, 1959, No. 26765/59. Class 45. A ground anchor comprises a shaft 1 on which a helical disc 2 is secured. The diameter of the disc increases from the bottom and the pitch is 1À0-1À5 D where D is the maximum diameter. The disc makes between one and one and a half turns round the shaft and has a sharpened edge 6 and rim 5. The end 3 of the shaft is pointed and may have a spiral groove 4. The upper end of the shaft 1 has an eye 8 in which, a handle may be engaged to screw the anchor into the ground. There may also be a hook 9 to which an anchoring wire can be connected.
