A non-expansible nut which is to be anchored in chipboard has a head 3, e.g. of circular shape with a chamfered underface, to prevent it being pushed right through the board, and an enlarged frusto-conical end 5 to prevent it from being pulled out from the board. The nut may also have radially disposed fins to prevent it rotating.
