Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of formula: <FORM:0869399/IV (b)/1> where R1 and R2 are C1-4 alkyl, X is oxyge or sulphur, R3 is hydrogen, methyl or chlormethyl, n is 1 or 2, m is 3 to 7 and when n is 2, the R3 groups may be the same or different. They are prepared by reacting a compound: <FORM:0869399/IV (b)/2> where Y is hydrogen, a metal or ammonium with a lactam or thiolactam of formula: <FORM:0869399/IV (b)/3> where Z is hydroxyl or chlorine. A solvent may be used and temperatures of 15 to 100 DEG C. are mentioned, although lower temperatures may be used. The products have pesticidal properties (see Group VI).
