Abstract
The invention comprises 5-dibenzo[b.f.]azepine derivatives of the general formula <FORM:0906452/IV (b)/1> (wherein each X represents a hydrogen or halogen atom, and R1 and R2 each represent a hydrogen atom or an alkyl radical, whilst two such alkyl radicals may be linked directly or through an oxygen atom to form a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring), and the preparation thereof by reacting a compound of the general formula <FORM:0906452/IV (b)/2> with a carbamic acid chloride Cl-CO-NR1R2, or with phosgene followed by reaction of the resulting 5-chlorocarbonyl derivative with a compound HNR1R2. The products are useful as anti-convulsive (particularly anti-epileptic) agents. Specification 820,476 is referred to.
