868,750. Container closures. GRAVES, K. H., and WATTS, P. H. March 15, 1960 [Dec. 15, 1958], No. 40338/58. Class 125(3). A closure for a container comprises a screwthreaded bung 10 formed with a central passage 12 and a screw-threaded boss 13 surrounding the passage 12. A union 14 having a passage 15 aligning with the passage. 12 screws on to the boss. A plate 16 moves in a slot in the boss, a port 17 in the plate being brought into registering engagement with the passages 12, 15 by means of a cam mounted on the inside of a cylindrical sleeve 19 which is rotated about the bung by means of a handle 20. If desired, both the boss and union may form a guide for the plate 16.
