Abstract
867,865. Automatic weight control systems. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Nov. 13, 1957 [Dec. 5,1956],no. 37194/56. Class 38 (4). The weight of a fluid material per unit length on a conveyer 5 is maintained constant by a weigh-beam 8 mechanically linked to a variable impedance 10 controlling the current through a field winding 12 of an amplidyne 14. The winding 12 is opposed by a bias field winding 13 whereby any difference causes the amplidyne 14 to energize a motor 15 driving a blade 4 which sweeps the fluid material from a turntable 2 on to the conveyer 5; the blade moving to a new angular position in which the rate at which the material is swept on to the conveyer again balances the field windings 12, 13.
