A joint between two members defining an annular, but not necessarily circular, space is made by filling the space with an initially liquid, settable resin, such as an epoxy resin composition, which adheres to the jointed surfaces, and then inserting reinforcement by fibrous material extending round the space. The fibrous material may be staple fibres, e.g. hemp, sisal, cotton or synthetic continuous filament, but glass roving is preferred. A method of making the joint is described.
