Abstract

867,068. Automatic circuit - breakers. DEYRAIL, C. Dec. 2, 1957, No. 2125/60. Divided out of 852,427. Class 38 (5). Contacts 6, 7 are held closed against the action of a spring 12 by a bimetal strip 10 which normally engages under a plate 9 on a rod 8 carrying contact 6. The bimetal is connected in series with contacts 6, 7 by a flexible lead 17, and if an overload occurs, the bimetal is deflected and releases the rod, so that the contacts open. The bimetal 10 is connected to an end cap 2, and the contact 6 to a cap 1, the device being in the form of a cartridge received between resilient contacts 4, 5.
