Abstract
866,860. Change-speed control. REGIE NATIONALE DE USINES RENAULT. May 8, 1959 [May 10, 1958], No. 15878/59. Class 80 (2). The upper ends of sheet-metal shift-forks 8, 9 are of U'shape with the arms of the U's intercalated and slidably mounted on a stationary guide-rod 3. Each fork is locked, except when the other fork is in its neutral position, by spring- pressed plungers 11 mounted in the rod engaging depressions 6, 61 in the bridging portions of the U-shaped parts. The central depression 6<SP>1</SP> defining the neutral position of the corresponding fork is deeper than the depressions 6, and the plungers are of such length that a fork can only be shifted when the depression 61 of the other fork registers with the plungers. The bridging portion of each U-shaped part is formed with a bent-over extension having a recess 10 selectively engageable by a controllever (not shown).
