865,913. Photographic projection printing processes and apparatus. CIBA Ltd. April 23, 1957 [April 24, 1956], No. 12985/57..Classes 97(1) and 98(1) An image as of silver or dye and which is in relief and/or tanned form is copied by projection on to light-sensitive material using a light source so small as viewed from the image that the rays on any point of the latter are substantially parallel to one another, whereby enhancement of definition results. Such image is defined as part of the apparatus wherein, as shown, light source 21 projects rays from an extended distance successively through image 22 with relief 25 and projection lens 23 on to surface 24, with interposition of condenser lens 26 in the lower Figure. Four Examples stated to illustrate the invention describe (1) the production of a silver relief positive image using a pyrogallol developer, (2) ferricyanide bleaching and repeated pyrogallol development of this image, (3) and (4) a couple of commercial colour positives with indications that they have images in relief form. The apparatus may be used for projection only. Specifications 865,186 and 865,912 are referred to.
