865,634. Valves. WESTINGHOUSE BRAKE & SIGNAL CO. Ltd., and HIGGINS, H. L. June 12, 1958 [June 21, 1957], No. 19560/57. Class 135. An electro-magnetically-operated valve, for vacuum brake actuation at 25 and horn actuation at 27 comprises two or more separate valves 29, 30 operated by linearly-movable elements 31, 32 directly engaging a common abutment 14 movable by a solenoid armature 13. The abutment is yieldable against spring 16 to compensate for slight inequality in the height of the resilient seats 23, 26, the valve 29 closing on seat 22 to break the connection from 25 to a vacuum line 28 and open line 24 to atmosphere, and both valves seating on the top seats 23, 36 when the solenoid is energized.
