Abstract
865,518. Enamels and enamelling. FERRO CORPORATION. Nov. 18, 1959, No. 39094/59. Class 56. A vitreous enamel for aluminium and other light metals is free of lead, cadmium, fluorides, barium and zinc and has the following composition in weight percentages : SiOz 30-42 ; R 2 O 28-45; TiO 2 10-21 ; SbzOs +SnO 2 0-12 ; P 2 O 5 0-5; SrO + CaO 0-5; Al 2 O 3 0-8; B 2 O 3 0-5; X m O n 0-6 where X m O n represents one or more heavy metal oxides for colouring the enamel and R 2 O represents Na 2 O, Li 2 O and K 2 O in the following proportions Na 2 O 20-35; L 2 O 0-5; K 2 O 3-14. Examples of batches and the preparation and application of the enamels are given. Specification 634,655 and U.S.A. Specification 2,608,490 are referred to.
