Abstract

865,262. Suction cleaners. HALLSTROM, O. H. Jan. 29, 1960, No. 3291/60. Classes 8(1) and 8(2). In a wheel mounted canister typ( suction cleaner having a dust con tainer 1, Fig. 1, beneath a filter 3 and horizontally withdrawable from a motor fan casing 4 and a cover 2 the container 1 has means e.g., a pivoted wheel 27 serving to support it during the releasing movement and in its released position and the casing base 4a has a pair of wheels 28 which support the cleaner after removal of the container 1 and which co-operate with the wheel 2' to support the connected assembly, the cover 2 having a dust-laden air inlet 6 opening into the container 1 but allowing removal of the latter without need of displacement of said inlet 6. The container 1 in which is suspended a bag 25 is located by a gusset 22 having a roller 23 which after being guided up an inclined plane 24 of the casing 4 is engaged in a recess 24a. The container is secured by clamps 20. The filter 3 comprises cloth 11, Fig. 2, held in vertically extending folds by frames 8 projecting upwardly from a horizontal bar 10 removable from the casing cover 2 and by frames 9 projecting downwardly from a horizontal bar 12 connected to a spring-biased shaker rod 15 operated by a handle 16 when unscrewed from a socket 16a.
