864,573. Convertible seats. LEACH PRODUCTIONS Ltd., P. Oct. 30, 1959 [Nov. 12, 1958], No. 36290/58. Classes 52(2) and 52(3). An underframe which may support a chair D and/or a table C consists of inverted U-shaped end-pieces a and bearers b, the bearers being formed to co-operate with the inclined front edge d<SP>1</SP> of chair base member d to prevent the chair from tilting backwards. The table C is provided with short inclined legs c. The length of the bearers b may be varied to accommodate a number of chairs D or only one (Fig. 1, not shown). The chairs D may face in the same or opposite directions. Reference is made to a cupboard, book-shelf or paper rack, having legs c for mounting on the under-frame.
