Abstract

864,167. Haymaking. INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CO. Sept. 21, 1959 [June 11, 1959], No. 32049/59. Class 6(3). [Also in Group II] In a hay-conditioning machine comprising a main frame supported on wheels 88 and carrying a pair of crushing rollers (see Group II) for picking up a wide swathe of cut hay from the ground for passage between the crushing rollers, the main frame carries windrowing means comprising top and side deflector plates 102, 105 to receive material from the discharge side of the rollers and confine it for delivery on to the ground in a windrow of reduced width in relation to the swathe. The side deflector plates 105 are pivoted at 105a to the main frame and are each angularly adjustable in slots 113, 114 provided in the top deflector plate 102. The plate 102 comprises downwardly and rearwardly inclined overlapping trailing portions 121, 122 provided with slots 124 whereby they may be adjusted so as to extend between the side plates at various angular positions thereof.
