862,510. Photomechanical procedure. THENHALTER, F. Feb. 4, 1958 [Feb. 27, 1957; Sept. 17, 1957], No. 3656/58. Drawings to Specification. Class 98(2) A screen positive film suitable for printing down to sensitised resists for etching textile printing cylinders is made by forming ink tracings or copies for the light, medium and heavy tones respectively of an original drawing, forming screen negatives thereof using a cross-line screen with a ruling angle of 45 degrees for the first two tones and a single-line screen with a ruling angle of 25-30 degrees for the last, the heavy tones; the rulings of the screens having substantially the same pitch, and printing the screen positive from these negatives. The procedure is described with reference to 19 Figures (not shown), representing the screens, the tracings or copies in diagrammatic manner, and the exposure and registration sequences; the final screen positive being made by three successive printings from the negatives.
