Abstract

861,857. Moulding building blocks. TURNER, N. G. E. April 9, 1957 [Jan. 9, 1956], No. 661/56. Class 87(2). [Also in Group XV] A building board e.g. plaster board or a wood wool cement slab has on one face a decorative surface finish in the form of moulded-on separate protuberances of hardened plaster or like finishing material, which has been permitted or caused to set in place directly on the board to become an integral part thereof after being moulded, when initially in a plastic state. A wood wool-cement block 10 has applied to it upstanding plaster projections 11 by means of the mould template 12 having cavities, the edges of which are preferably tapered as shown and which are coated with a parting agent, e.g., beeswax. Plaster is filled into the cavities and levelled flush with the upper surface of the mould. When the plaster has set, the mould is removed by means of the ejector 16 which has pins 15 passing through holes in the mould, and upstanding projections 17 corresponding with the mould cavities. These projections are also coated with release agent, the ejector placed in position, and the mould released by pulling on the frame 18.
