Class 120(1) A clearer assembly for clearing the stripping brush for the flats of carding engines has the ends of the clearer B secured in brackets C each formed with a cylindrical projection c to receive a member D held on a rod E slidable on a bracket F carried by the stripping brush shaft a. A spring G interposed between the projection c and the bracket F holds the clearer B away from the stripping brush A until pressure is applied to the clearer. In order to lock the clearer B in the position shown, or in a position turned to allow an operative to clean it, a thumbscrew g is provided. Specifications 632,268 and 665,019 are referred to.
