Abstract

861,133. Sheet-delivery apparatus. GOLDING, W. F. May 27, 1958 [May 29, 1957], No. 17064/57. Class 100(1) Sheet-delivery apparatus of the kind wherein an auxiliary receiver is inserted during removal of a full pile comprises sheet supporting members 5 movable into an operative position in which they support the front edge portion of sheets being delivered to create a gap 18 between such front edge portions and the top of the main pile 13 into which the auxiliary receiver 16 may be inserted. The members 5 form part of members 3 pivoted on pins 2 sup. ported between bars 1, 1a. The members 3 also include arms 6 connected together by a link 7 whereby the sheet supporting members 5, which have inclined faces 5a. may be rotated from an inoperative position where they lie parallel to the bars 1, la, to the operative position shown. The bars 1, 1a are secured to brackets 9, pivoted at 20 to side frames 8 and connected to a link 24 so that the brackets and bars 1, 1 a may be rocked. The bar 1a carries stops 21 which are thus jogged between the positions 21 and 21b shown in Fig. 1. The stops 21 normally lie in the path of sheets being delivered to the pile. Further the auxiliary receiver 16, which slides in guides 15, is provided with ribs 16b between which the stops 21 extend. The stops 21 are mounted for rotation out of the path of sheets for inspection purposes (Fig. 4 not shown). Alternatively the members 3 may be mounted below the bar 1a instead of between the bars 1, la (Fig. 3, not shown).
