Abstract
858,524. Rolling. MANNESMANN-MEER A.G. Aug. 1, 1958 [Sept. 16, 1957], No. 24881/58. Class 83 (4). [Also in Group XXIX] An hydraulic motor c for feeding and rotating equipment of Pilger rolling mills and which is operated intermittently has its exhaust liquid constantly determined by a braking device l which cuts off the exhaust when the motor has reached a desired position. A single-plunger pump d has its piston reciprocated by a cam g on a driving shaft f, and during a forward stroke supplies liquid through a non-return valve o to the motor c. Liquid exhausted from the motor passes through a valve m to the cylinder of the braking device which has a piston k controlled by a cam j on the shaft f. When piston k reaches bottom dead-centre exhaust is stopped, and the pump piston is at top dead-centre. Valve m is then changed over by a cam n on the driving shaft so that during the forward stroke of piston k liquid is supplied through valve m to the pump, and the motor exhaust line is blocked.
