Abstract

858,074. Axial-flow pumps. E.M.B. ELEKTROMOTORENBAU A.G. April 28, 1958 [April 26, 1957], No. 13484/58. Class 110 (1). [Also in Group XXXV] The two parts A, B of a pump housing are centred by the stator 14 of the driving-motor, which projects into each part, the two parts being connected together by screws 18 having left-hand and right-hand threads. The stator is isolated from the water being pumped by means of a tubular shield 9 and packings 10. The pump impeller 17 is smaller in diameter than the motor rotor 16, to facilitate assembly into the housing. A bore 20 equalizes the fluid end thrust on each end of the shaft. The inlet and outlet conduits (not shown) of the pump are coaxial with each other and at right-angles to the pump axis.
