Abstract
Pharmaceutical compositions comprise as essential constituents; inbitol and either acetylsalicylic acid or 1, 5-dimethyl - 2 - phenyl - 3 - pyrazoline (known under the Registered Trade Mark "Antipyrine"). Preferably the proportion by weight of the sorbitol to the other essential ingredient is from 0,5 : 1 to 10 : 1. The compositions may be put in to tablets which may be coated e.g. with resin varnish, gum lac or gelatin and talc and may further be coloured. A specific composition disclosed which is stated to be suitable for tableting to yield tablets which are readily dispensable in water has the composition; aspirin 0,25 g, sorbitol 0,25 g, levilite 0,025 g, stearin 0,005 g, starch 0,02 g, blaune 0,005 g, magnesium stearate 0,005 g.
