Abstract
Soap compositions which may be in liquid, powder, flake or, most preferably, tablet form contain a synergetic germicidal mixture, suitably in amounts of 0.1-0.5%, preferably 0.3-0.5%, by weight of the composition, consisting of (a) 3 : 41 : 5-tribromosalicylanilide, and (b) 3 : 4 : 41-trichlorocarbanilide, the germicidal mixture containing 40-10%, preferably 35-20%, by weight of (a), and 60-90%, preferably 65-80%, by weight of (b). Suitable soaps are the sodium and potassium salts of C8-26 saturated and unsaturated fatty acids, and the composition may also include other compatible adjuncts, e.g. perfume.
