Abstract
857,279. Luminescent screens. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. March 16, 1959 [March 26, 1958], No. 8994/59. Drawings to Specification. Class 39(1). A luminescent screen is formed by heating a vitreous transparent substrate e.g. a glass plate to a temperature of 200‹C. to 500‹C. in an evacuable chamber and vacuum evaporating thereon a thin layer of zinc fluoride together with an activator e.g. 0À01 to 5% by weight of manganese.
