855,122. Shearing. ESSER, P., [trading as MEYER, ROTH & PASTOR]. May 29, 1957 [June 5, 1956], No. 17054/57. Class 83 (4). In a shears in which wire 10 fed through a cut-off die 11, e.g. by rollers 9, is cut into lengths by a blade 6 rockable across the cutoff die 11, the return path of the blade 6 lies clear of the aperture in the cut-off die 11. The blade 6 is mounted on a lever rocked about an axis 8 which is also movable about an axis 3 so that the blade moves in closed elliptical or oval path. The wire is guided by grooves in a member 14 and after cutting is removed therefrom by transfer levers 15 movable with the blade 6.
