Class 3(1) An edge-illuminated panel is mounted on a slotted base containing a fluorescent tube 28 which is rotated by an electric motor 7 through reduction gearing 8-13 and is energized through conventional slip-ring and brush connector means. The tube is provided with contrasting translucent or transparent bands in the form of longitudinal strips or patterns.
