Abstract
A mould, die or forming tool is made by depositing, e.g. by wire spraying or electrode position, a thin skin of metal, e.g. a nickel-chrome-molybdenum steel, on a pattern mould and then casting epoxide resin in the mould.ALSO:A mould, die or forming tool is made by depositing a thin skin of metal, e.g. a nickel-chrome-molybdenum steel on a pattern mould and then casting epoxide resin in the mould. If only part of the mould is provided with a metal skin, the rest of the mould is coated with a release agent. The metal may be deposited by wire spraying or electrodeposition. The epoxide resin may be filled with slate dust. The method may also be applied to repairing or modifying moulds.
