Abstract
The invention comprises compounds of the formula: <FORM:0854634/IV(b)/1> (wherein R is a phenyl radical which may be substituted by one or more alkyl groups or halogen atoms and R1 is a halogen atom) and their preparation by treating the corresponding 4-hydroxy compounds with halogenating agents such as phosphorus oxychloride. Examples describe the preparation of 1-phenyl- and 1-(p-chlorophenyl)-4-chloro-pyrazolo-(3 : 4-d)-pyrimidines. Specification 854,633 also is referred to.ALSO:Pharmaceutical compositions, stated to have fungicidal properties, comprise compounds of the formula: <FORM:0854634/VI/1> (wherein R is a phenyl radical which may be substituted by one or more alkyl groups or halogen atoms and R 1 is a halogen atom) in admixture with pharmaceutical organic or inorganic carriers. The compositions may be in the form of tablets dragees, salves, creams, solutions, suspensions or emulsions which may comprise suitable conventional excipients. They may contain preserving, stabilizing, wetting or emulsifying agents or other therapeutically valuable substances. Specification 854,633 also is referred to.
