Abstract
853,863. Photo-electric exposure control. VOIGTLANDER A. G. Nov. 9, 1956 [Nov. 9, 1955], No. 34398/56. Class 40(3). [Also in Group XX] In a photographic camera in which exposures are controlled by a built-in exposure meter, the amount of light directed on to a photo-cell 20 by a lens 18 is controlled by an iris diaphragm 19 which is adjustable by relatively rotatable tubes 16, 17 driven by a reversible motor 5 through gears on a time-setting ring 3 and an aperturesetting ring 4 of the camera shutter 2, the motor being driven when a bridge circuit comprising the photo-cell 20, a resistance 27 and a potentiometer 25 is out of balance. The potentiometer 25 is carried by the tube 17 and its slider 26 by the tube 16 and the motor 5 operates until a balance is obtained. The motor 5 drives a differential gear 7-12 so as to set the ring 3 or 4 correctly after the other ring 4 or 3 has been fixed at a desired setting. The tube 16 is driven from the ring 3 through gears 23, 22, the gear 23 being adjustable relatively to the ring 3 by a pin 24 and holes 241. Specification 853,864 is referred to.
