Abstract

853,620. Switchgear structures. COMPAGNIE ELECTKO-MECANIQUE. Feb. 7, 1957 [Feb. 7, 1956], No. 4254/57. Class 38 (5). In withdrawable switchgear, the plug pins, Fig. 4, are mounted on a support 12 on the fixed structure and in the operative position pass through holes 3 in a panel 1, which is detachably secured by means of holes 4 to the movable carriage, so as to serve as fixed contacts. The co-operating blade contacts 6 are non-rotatably carried by insulating elements 7 which are screw-threaded on to a rod 8, the plain ends 9 of which are supported in bearings 2 in slots 11. The rod is connected by links (not shown) to an operating means on the carriage, and the contacts 6 are provided with springs 10 and stops 5. To adjust a contact, the left-hand bearing 2 is pushed inwards and the rod end 9 lifted from slot 11, the contact being then screwed backwards or forwards, or, if necessary, changed to normally-open or vice versa. As shown, pins 13a, 13b have insulating sleeves 14, and pin 16 is shorter than pin 15. In approaching the movable part, the panel 1 may be stopped with contacts 6 in engagement with the tips of pins 13a, 13b, 15. A further movement brings contacts 6 level with insulating sleeves 14, corresponding to an intermediate position, and in the fully-home position all the pins become effective.
