The webs a<11> support a pair of guide strips e for the blocks f, which are provided with pins m and anti-friction rollers engaging open-ended slots in levers l on an operating spindle k. In the full-open position shown, the movable-contact structure may be completely withdrawn by undoing the pivoted hooked straps g. The two movable contacts b<1> may be formed of one piece or, as shown, interconnected by a fuse or link h. The arrangement is applicable to multi-pole switches in which the - contacts are arranged one behind the other on rods c, c<1>, Fig. 2 (not shown). A quick-action device as described in Specification 559,437 may be provided for spindle k.
